Spartan Women’s Soccer Announces 2021 Schedule

Michigan State will play at least an 11-game conference-only schedule.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State head women's soccer coach Tom Saxton announced the Spartans' 2021 schedule. After the fall season was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Michigan State will now play an 11-game conference only-schedule.
The Spartans will start the 11-game schedule at Maryland on Feb. 20. MSU will then be home for a pair of games against Nebraska (Feb. 25) and Minnesota (Feb. 28).
Michigan State will then hit the road for a long stretch with five-straight games away from East Lansing. MSU will take on Rutgers (March 4) and Penn State (March 7), before taking on Michigan on March 13. To close out the road swing, the Spartans will travel to Indiana (March 18) and Purdue (March 21).
MSU will end the regular season with three-straight home games, beginning with games against Northwestern (March 25) and Illinois (March 28). The final currently schedules home game will be against Ohio State on April 3.
The 11-game schedule will be followed by a "wildcard weekend" April 8-11, consisting of 1-2 non-conference matchups (against Big Ten opponents) with the exact format, dates, times, opponents and locations to be announced at a later date. Their will be a four-team Big Ten Tournament which will be played April 15-18, consisting of semifinals and a championship game and played at the highest remaining seed.
Details on venues and kickoff times will be announced at a later date. Under current Big Ten guidelines, the general public, beyond student-athletes' families, are not permitted for 2021 Spartan women's soccer home games.
