East Lansing, Mich. - Michigan State rowing hosts its only home event this fall on Oct. 16, welcoming several varsity teams as well as the MSU men's and women's club crews to Grand River Park.
Fans are welcome to attend the Head of the Grand with spectator areas located at Grand River Park (3001 Lansing Road, Lansing MI) and along Moores River Drive (between Waverly Road and MLK Jr Blvd). The Michigan Princess Riverboat will also be available for viewing the event. Admission to the boat is $1.00 per person. Fans are asked to stay out of the boathouse area during the event.
Â
"We're really excited to get back out there and start racing competitively again," head coach Kim Chavers said. "It'll be the first race for our novices and the first home race for us in two years, so getting the opportunity to race in front of our local fans again is great. We are welcoming several in-state crews including Eastern Michigan, who we most recently raced against last spring and will race again in spring 2022."
The Spartans will participate in four varsity eight, six varsity four, and three novice eight races throughout the morning in racing heats.
