
Women's Soccer Earns Fourth Seed in B1G Tournament; Hosts Quarterfinal Match

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's soccer is set to host Iowa on Sunday, October 31 for a Big Ten Tournament quarterfinal game, the league announced Sunday night.

The Spartans earned the No. 4 seed in the conference with an overall record of 10-4-3 and a 5-4-3 mark in Big Ten play. Michigan State went 2-3 in their last five matches, shutting out Ohio State and Maryland. The three losses were battles against nationally-ranked teams.
Michigan State makes its first appearance in the Big Ten Tournament since 2011, when they finished third in the league. It will be their first time hosting a postseason round on campus since 2002. The Spartans finished the regular season third in the league in goals allowed, fifth in saves and with the fourth-most shutouts.
Following the quarterfinals, the tournament will continue with the semifinals on November 4 and the championship match November 7. The semifinals and championship match will be played on the campus of the highest remaining seed following the quarterfinal round, with both semifinals and the title contest televised by BTN and the FOX Sports app.
