James Piot Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

EAST LANSING – Michigan State senior James Piot has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday, March 31. Piot produced his best finish of the season – third – in helping MSU finish third at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate this past weekend.
In helping lead the Spartans to their third top-5 finish of the season, Piot finished the tournament 9-under-par 207, which tied his career best 54-hole total. The native of Canton was under par in all three rounds, shooting 70, 68 and 69, respectively. He recorded 49 of 54 holes at or below par, which included 12 birdies and one eagle.
The Golfer of the Week honor is the third of Piot's career and first since Sept. 2019.
Michigan State is back in action this weekend at the Hoosier Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana, April 3-4.
