Men’s Golf to Host Spartan Collegiate at Sea Island

EAST LANSING – The Michigan State men's golf team will host the Spartan Collegiate at Sea Island this coming Monday and Tuesday (March 8-9). The three-round tournament will feature 16 teams and get underway with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Monday at Sea Island's Plantation Course. Tuesday's final round is also slated for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
THE LINEUP
The Spartans will go with James Piot, Bradley Smithson, Andrew Walker, Troy Taylor II and August Meekhof.
THE FIELD (16)
Michigan State, Iowa, Indiana, Rutgers, Minnesota, Ohio State, Northwestern, Iowa State, Kansas State, Memphis, Cincinnati, Notre Dame, Miami, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan and Georgia Southern.
THE COURSE
The par-72 Plantation Course will play at 7,060 yards. The course hosts the first and second rounds of the PGA Tour's RSM Classic.

"We are blessed to be able to host our annual spring event at the Sea Island Resort Plantation Course, home to the RSM Classic on the PGA Tour. Sea Island is one of the premier resorts in America and I know the players and coaches will experience a first class and challenging layout and hospitality. We are so grateful to Mr. Steilen and the entire team for having us.
"We are privileged to host a very strong field and our guys will have to be resilient, patient and sharp to be in contention Tuesday afternoon - which is our expectation. We have had a bit of a mixed bag so far this season and I have watched some guys really step up their preparation in the last couple weeks so I expect us to be strong in all five positions."
