Aaron Henry Named Big Ten Player of the Week

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State men's basketball junior forward Aaron Henry (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) was named the Big Ten Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
Henry, a co-captain, helped the Spartans to a pair of wins during the week, first a 64-58 win over Indiana on Tuesday, March 2, and then a 70-64 win over No. 2 Michigan on Sunday in the regular season finale at the Breslin Center.
Michigan State finished the regular season with a 15-11 overall record, including a 9-11 mark in the Big Ten Conference. The Spartans closed out the regular season with five wins in the last seven games, including three over teams ranked among the top five in the Associated Press poll.
In three games last week, Henry averaged 18.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks while shooting 45.5 percent from the floor (20-of-44).
In the win over Indiana on Tuesday, Henry led MSU in points (22) and rebounds (eight) in the 64-58 win. He followed that up with 14 points in a loss at Michigan on Thursday. In the regular season finale on Sunday, he scored 18 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out three assists. He scored 13 of his 18 points in the second half and scored in double figures for the 13th-straight game and the 24th time this season.
This is the first Big Ten Player of the Week honor for Henry.
In 26 games, Henry leads MSU in scoring (15.5 ppg), assists (3.5 apg) and steals (1.3 spg) and is second on the team in rebounding (5.5 rpg) and blocks (1.3 bpg).
