Spartans Set for IU Spring Challenge

EAST LANSING – The Michigan State women's golf team will compete in the IU Spring Challenge on Sunday and Monday at Covered Bridge Golf Club in Sellersburg, Indiana. The event will get underway with 36 holes on Sunday and then the final 18 on Monday.
The Spartans will tee off from hole No. 1 between 9:24-10:18 a.m. on Sunday morning.

Indiana (155), Michigan State (42), Minnesota (71), Notre Dame (111) and Wisconsin (91)
THE LINEUP
MSU will go with Valery Plata, Yurika Tanida, Paz Marfa Sans, Leila Raines and Haylin Harris. Valentina Rossi and Sydney Naro will play as individuals.
THE COURSE
Covered Bridge Golf Club will play at 7,068 yards as a par-72 course. Covered Bridge is a Fuzzy Zoeller/Clyde-Johnston-design 18-hole golf course carved through the landscape of southern Indiana.

THE SPARTANS
This weekend's tournament will be the second to last for the Spartans prior to the Big Ten Tournament, April 23-25 … Valery Plata, who led the Spartans the last time out at the Clemson Invitational with a 2-under-par 214, leads MSU in scoring average this season at 73.13 … Plata has three top-10 finishes this season, while Yurika Tanida has two, including one in the top-five.
