James Piot Earns PING All-Region Honors

Michigan State senior James Piot, who is currently competing in the NCAA Championships, was named to the PING Midwest All-Region Team for the third consecutive year, it was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Saturday, May 29.
Piot entered the 2021 NCAA Championships with a 71.04 scoring average, which is currently the lowest single-season scoring average in program history. He has five top-five finishes this season, including having finished in the top four in three of his last four tournaments. Earlier in April, he won the third tournament of his career, taking medalist honors at the Hoosier Collegiate Invitational.
The first team All-Big Ten selection earned a spot in the 2021 NCAA Championships by finishing tied for fourth at the NCAA Kingston Springs Regional, May 17-19. Piot shot a 5-under-par 208 (72-68-68), which was the second-lowest 54-hole total of his career.
Piot is the first Spartan to earn PING All-Region honors for three consecutive years since Ryan Brehm garnered the accolade in four consecutive years from 2005-08.
