Joey Hauser Selected to Academic All-District First Team

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's basketball team rising redshirt senior Joey Hauser (Stevens Point, Wis./Stevens Point) was selected to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Thursday afternoon.
The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late May.
A communication major with a cumulative 3.34 grade-point average, Hauser finished third on the team in scoring with 9.7 points and tied for the team lead with 5.6 rebounds per game. A transfer from Marquette playing his first season for the Spartans, Hauser appeared in all 28 games and started 16 times.
Hauser, an Academic All-Big Ten selection, will complete his undergraduate degree this summer and is expected to begin work on a master's degree in the Fall.
