
Evans, Kozal and White Named to Big Ten Preseason Honors List

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Camryn Evans, Lauren Kozal and Samantha White of Michigan State's women's soccer team were named to the Big Ten Women's Soccer Preseason Honors list as voted on by the coaches, the Big Ten Conference announced on Monday, Aug. 16.Â

Evans repeats as a member of the Big Ten Preseason Honors lineup. The senior forward was named Academic All-Big Ten and started all 12 contests of the shortened 2021 season. In 2019, she led the squad with six assists, and was the leading scorer her sophomore year with seven goals including two game-winners.Â

Kozal returns to the net for the Spartans having served as MSU's primary goalkeeper the past two seasons. She wrapped up 2020 with 54 total saves (.705 save percentage). The redshirt junior anchored the backfield with six saves in a 2-0 shutout win over Nebraska (2/25), and came up with a season-high seven saves against Michigan (3/13) and at Rutgers in the season finale (4/8). She was also named to the Preseason Honors list in the spring of 2021.Â

White, a senior from McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, has been a strong defender in the backfield for four years as a member of the women's soccer team. She started in every game the past three seasons and totaled 1,061 minutes on the field in the spring of 2021. She was part of a Spartan defense that allowed just one goal to score in six of their games.Â
