EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State head women's basketball coach Suzy Merchant announced on Tuesday that junior guard Moira Joiner will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.
Joiner, who hails from Saginaw, Michigan, has been placed in MSU's concussion protocols multiple times this season by the MSU Sports Medicine team.
"Obviously, we are disappointed and heartbroken for Mo," Merchant said. "She is one of the toughest Spartans that I have ever coached. She was trying to come back and knows how we are limited in guard play, but you have to put your health and wellness first and listen to the doctors. It is in her best interest right now to shut down for the rest of the season."
Joiner played in 12 games this season, making five starts. Most recently, she saw action on the road at Ohio State on Jan. 12.
