Former Spartan DeJuan Jones Earns Invite to USMNT Training Camp

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Former Michigan State men's soccer player DeJuan Jones has been called to the United States Men's National Team for its January Preparation Camp in Phoenix, Arizona.
Jones, who currently plays for the New England Revolution, will train with the United States as part of the two-week camp. Head Coach Gregg Berhalter will select the final roster for three World Cup Qualifiers, which begin on Jan. 27. Jones is one of three Revolution teammates to earn the call.
This is the first career international call-up for Jones, who finished fifth in 2021 Major League Soccer Defender of the Year voting after a stellar season as a left back. The Lansing, Michigan native played in 31 games, starting 29, ranking among the league's top defenders. Last season, he scored three goals  with five assists. Jones recently signed a three-year contract extension with New England.
Jones was part of the 2018 team that led Michigan State to the College Cup. He earned second-team All-Big Ten honors for the two-straight seasons. He ended the season third on the team, scoring five goals and five assists for 15 points. He completed his MSU career with 16 goals and 14 assists for 46 points.
