Since World War I, more than 81,000 military service members are unaccounted for. In partnership with Rolling Thunder Michigan Chapter 5, the Michigan State Student Veteran’s Association and ROTC programs, Military Honor Chairs have been installed in Breslin Center, Munn Ice Arena and Spartan Stadium in recognition of those who have defended our country and not yet returned home. These unoccupied seats are dedicated to the memory of these brave members of our Armed Forces and symbolize that there will always be a place at Michigan State awaiting their return.
This is an athletics wide initiative. This is an opportunity for us to show support for those 81,000 members of the armed forces who are unaccounted for.
- Michigan State Vice President and Director of Athletics Alan Haller
The chairs will be dedicated at Breslin Center and Munn Ice Arena on November 11, 2022, and at Spartan Stadium on November 12, 2022. By fall 2023, each MSU Athletics venue will have a seat to honor these heroes.
As a Spartan community, we proudly recognize the MSU students, faculty, staff, and alumni who have served our country, as well as their families.
In honor of Veterans Day, the MSU community is coming together to support Spartans who have served us. The Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC) is the main hub for veterans at MSU, dedicated to promoting the educational, career, and personal advancement of service members, veterans, and their families. Make a difference by supporting the SVRC!
