Muller Earns B1G First Star Honors

East Lansing -- Senior centerman Nicolas Müller (Arisdorf, Switzerland) is the Big Ten's First Star of the Week, as announced by the Conference office on Tuesday.Â

Müller had two goals and two assists in the Spartans' sweep of No. 10/11 Ohio State last weekend. In the first game of the series, Müller had an assist on Matt Basgall's power-play goal in a 4-2 Spartan victory, and then had two goals and an assist in the series clincher on Friday, a 4-3 win. Â

Müller is tied for second on the team in scoring with 10 points and is third with seven assists. His 10 points on the season is his career best.Â

Michigan State is unbeaten in its last five games and returned to the national polls this week at No. 17 in the DCU/USCHO poll and 18 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine survey. MSU heads on the road this week for a series at No. 6/6 Penn State on Friday and Saturday.
