Malik Hall Named to Academic All-District 5 Team

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State men's basketball junior forward Malik Hall was selected First Team Academic All-District 5 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday (Feb. 17). He was one of two players from the Big Ten to earn a spot on a district list.
The District 5 team includes schools in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.
Hall was joined on the first team by Antoine Davis of the University of Detroit Mercy, Hunter Dickinson of Michigan, Jack Nunge of Xavier, JT Shumate of Toledo and Ben Vander Plas from Ohio University.
A team co-captain, Hall is second on the team in scoring (10.2 ppg), while adding 4.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. He is shooting 55.9 percent from the floor and has hit 52.1 percent of his 3-point attempts. In Big Ten play, Hall is averaging 10.4 points and 5.3 rebounds.
This is the third-straight year a member of the men's basketball team has earned CoSIDA Academic All-District first team honors, with Hall following Joey Hauser (2021) and Xavier Tillman Sr. (2020). Michigan State has had six student-athletes earn nine different Academic All-America honors.
First team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. Honorees for the Academic All-America teams will be announced in mid-March.
