EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State rowing Head Coach Kim Chavers and her staff will host an introductory rowing clinic teaching all aspects of the sport on Saturday, March 19.
The Learn to Row clinic will be held at the MSU Varsity Women's Boathouse, located at Grand River Park in Lansing. The clinic will run from approximately 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with check-in beginning at 11 a.m.
This clinic is for juniors and seniors in high school of any athletic background who want to learn to row and about opportunities to row for Michigan State University. No prior rowing experience is necessary.
Participants will meet and learn directly from the MSU rowing coaches, moving from basic drills indoors on rowing machines to a water session out on the Grand River using collegiate boats. The MSU coaching staff hopes that athletes leave the clinic with a curiosity to learn more about rowing and the opportunities there are for young athletes to join a Division I rowing team in college.
Registration can be completed here, along with answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the clinic, such as what to wear, the schedule for the day and COVID-19 protocols.
