East Lasing, Mich. – The Izzo Legacy Run/Walk/Roll will be held on Saturday, April 16, the morning of Michigan State's spring football game, on the MSU campus.
Anyone interested in signing up to participate in the run, walk or roll can register here.
The 5K event will start by the Hall of History at Breslin Student Events Center and finish outside of Spartan Stadium. Participants will then enter the stadium for a victory lap around the field.
The Izzo family has partnered with Playmakers to host this premium experience on the campus of Michigan State University. The mission is to connect alumni, the MSU and Mid-Michigan communities in a positive celebration of Coach Izzo's legacy. The events include a 5K Run/Walk, 5K Roll, 3/4 Mile Walk, Children's Races and a Virtual 5K. All events will focus on fitness, fun, family, Spartan spirit and charitable giving.
Since the inception of the Izzo Legacy 5K, the two events have raised almost $350,000 for local charities. This year, the event will support 13 local charities that contribute meaningfully to our community. Proceeds from the Izzo Legacy 5K Run/Wall/Roll event will help ensure charitable giving for years to come.
"Tom and I have certainly been blessed to be a part of this community and we feel a genuine obligation to give back to the MSU and Mid-Michigan communities that have become such a large part of our lives. One of the reasons we've never left Michigan State is the connection to our community."
~ Lupe Izzo
