Spartans Among 16 Teams in B1G Invite

Michigan State prepares to race at the Big Ten Invitational this weekend, a regatta that features 16 institutions. The eight Big Ten institutions plus eight other invited crews will race at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida – the host site of the 2022 NCAA Championships (May 27-29).
Each of the 16 crews will race three sessions: two on Friday and one on Saturday. Crews competing at this year's regatta include all eight Big Ten institutions: Iowa, No. 20 Indiana, No. 6 Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, No. 8 Ohio State, No. 17 Rutgers, and Wisconsin. The eight non-B1G invited teams are No. 7 Brown, Dartmouth, No. 10 Duke, Notre Dame, No. 2 Stanford, No. 18 Tennessee, No. 12 Virginia, and Washington State. Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan State, and Notre Dame are all receiving votes in this week's CRCA national poll.
The Big Ten Invitational will be contested through three sessions: a morning and afternoon session on Friday, and a morning session on Saturday. Sixty-six races are on the docket at Nathan Benderson Park, which features the 2,000-meter course that will host the 2022 NCAA Championships on May 27-29.
