
Four Spartans Make Summer League All-Star Teams

Anderson, Busch, Powers and Vradenburg garner honors.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Four Michigan State baseball players were selected to their summer league All-Star teams.
Jacob Anderson, Sam Busch, Nick Powers and Brock Vradenburg garnered All-Star honors for their respective teams, with Anderson, Busch and Powers playing in the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star game Tuesday night, while Vradenburg played in the Coastal Plain League All-Star game last Sunday.
Anderson plays for the Muskegon Clippers and was selected to the North Division All Stars for the 2022 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star game, which is Tuesday night in Mason, Ohio. The infielder is currently hitting .269 with seven doubles, one triple and two home runs, with 15 RBI, adding six stolen bases in playing 30 games for the Clippers.
Busch and Powers both play for the Michigan Monarchs, and were also selected to the North Division All Stars for Tuesday night's 2022 Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League All-Star game. Busch was tabbed an alternate, while Powers was an All-Star selection, as they have helped the Monarchs to the North Division lead.
In 23 games with the Monarchs, Busch has 14 hits with one double and four home runs and 12 RBI, drawing 10 walks and swiping four stolen bases.Â
Powers has five appearances with three starts, picking up one save, in logging an 0.94 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 19.0 innings.
Vradenburg plays for the Lexington County Blowfish and was selected to the West All-Star team for the 2022 Coastal Plain League All-Star game last Sunday, July 10, helping the West to a 3-2 win. The infielder Vradenburg is hitting .287 with 31 hits, six doubles, one triple and three home runs, with 23 RBI and adding one stolen base in playing 31 games for the Blowfish.Â
