McCulloch Ties for 15th Place at Fighting Irish Classic

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State junior men's golfer Ashton McCulloch shot a 2-under par 68 in the final round and finished in a tie for 15th place to lead the Spartans at the Fighting Irish Classic, held at Notre Dame's par-70, 7,023-yard Warren Golf Course.
The Spartans finished in 13th place among 14 teams at 31-over par 871 (287-295-289), with a 9-over par 289 in the final frame.
Tennessee shot a 10-under par 830 to win the tournament, with Northwestern and Indiana tied for second place (3-under par 837), host Notre Dame fourth (2-over par 842) and Iowa State in fifth place (3-over par 843).
Final Results
McCulloch fired his second round of 2-under par 68 in the final round of the tournament and to finish in a tie for 15th place at 1-over par 215 (68-75-68).
Graduate Drew Hackett had his best round of the tournament with an even-par 70 on Monday and tied for 43rd place at 7-over par 217 (73-74-70).
Senior Bradley Smithson tied for 66th place at 15-over par 225 (73-73-79), while senior August Meekhof tied for 71st place at 16-over par 226 (73-78-75) and freshman Lorenzo Pinili tied for 79th place at 19-over par 229 (80-73-76).
Junior Satchel Pierce, playing as an individual, finished in 54th place at 10-over par 220 (74-72-74).
Michigan State returns to the course for the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational on Sunday, Oct. 15 and Monday, Oct. 16.
