Sunday’s MSU Baseball Action At Fluor Field Rained Out

Spartans’ final day of First Pitch Invitational washed out.
GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Michigan State baseball's final day of action at the 2023 First Pitch Invitational at MSU's home-away-from-home, Fluor Field, home of the Greenville Drive was cancelled due to rain in the Greenville area, washing out MSU's scheduled game vs. Kansas and it will not be made up.
The Spartans finish First Pitch Invitational 3-0 after beating Western Carolina on Friday, 6-5, in the opening game of the First Pitch Invite, then sweeping a split doubleheader on Saturday, beating Kansas, 10-6, and Western Carolina, 7-2. MSU's record improved to 8-7 on the season, on a season-long three-game win streak. Kansas ends First Pitch Invite action 0-2 following a 5-3 loss to Western Carolina on Friday night and Saturday's loss to MSU. Western Carolina ended the weekend 1-2.
Michigan State will return home to East Lansing Sunday night after its 10-day Spring Break road trip to South Carolina is complete.
The Spartans' next action will be at Indiana State, Friday-Sunday, March 17-19, in Terre Haute, Ind.
MSU will then play its first game in the state of Michigan on March 22, heading to Kalamazoo to meet in-state foe Western Michigan. The Spartans then host their home opener at McLane Stadium at Kobs Field on March 24, hosting Purdue in MSU's Big Ten Opener in the first of a three-game conference series, March 24-26.
