Walker, Hoggard, Hauser Earn All-Big Ten Honors

Walker Named Second Team, Hoggard Third Team, Hauser Named Honorable Mention
East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's basketball senior guard Tyson Walker was selected to the All-Big Ten Conference Second Team by the league's coaches and media, the league office announced on Tuesday, March 7.
Walker was one of three MSU players to earn all-conference honors, as graduate forward Joey Hauser and junior guard A.J. Hoggard were both honorable mention selections by the coaches. Hoggard earned third-team honors from the media, while Hauser was an honorable mention selection.
Walker earns his first All-Big Ten honor with a pair of second team nods. He finished the regular season leading the team in scoring 14.8 points per game, which ranks 11th in the Big Ten, adding 2.8 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. Walker also ranks 11th in the conference in field goal percentage, connecting on 46.0 percent of his shots from the field. He is second on the team in 3-pointers made (54) and leads the team in steals (35, 1.16 per game).
Hoggard and Hauser both earned All-Big Ten honors for the first time in their careers.
Hoggard, an honorable mention selection by the coaches and a third team honoree from the media, is third on the team in scoring with 12.6 points per game and leads the team, and ranks second in the Big Ten, with 6.1 assists per game. Hoggard ranks No. 9 in the country in total assists (184) and is 10th in the country in assists per game. The junior also leads the team, and ranks sixth in the Big Ten, in free throw percentage, connecting on 81.6 percent of his shots. He has hit a team-high 111 free throws in a team-high 136 attempts.
Hauser, an honorable mention section by the coaches and the media, is second on the team with 14.2 points per game and leads the team with 6.97 rebounds per game, while adding 1.93 assists per game. Hauser ranks No. 15 in the Big Ten in scoring, No. 12 in rebounds, fifth in 3-pointers made per game (2.23/game) and eighth in minutes played per game (33.83).
The Spartans clinched the No. 4 seed and a double bye in the Big Ten Tournament, and the Spartans will play on Friday, March 10 in the quarterfinals at the United Center in Chicago. MSU will square off in the second game of the morning session (around 2:30 pm., BTN) against the winner of a game between No. 5 seed Iowa and No. 12 seed Wisconsin or No. 13 seed Ohio State.
