Spartans will now play in Port Charlotte, Florida in second weekend; home dates changing.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State baseball's 2024 schedule has had a couple changes, including changing location during the second weekend of the season, as well as some date and time changes for some other games.
MSU was slated to face Northern Kentucky in North Carolina on the second weekend of the season, Feb. 23-25, but due to a NKU scheduling conflict, the Norse had to back out of the scheduled games. Michigan State will now travel to Port Charlotte, Florida on Feb. 23-24 to play in the Snowbird Classic at Centennial Park. MSU will open the weekend with a doubleheader, taking on Indiana State on Friday, Feb. 23 at 12 p.m., then meeting Marshall at 3:30 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 24, the Spartans wrap up the weekend by facing Marshall again, also at 3:30 p.m.
Michigan State's home game against Notre Dame on April 30 has been changed to a 7:05 p.m. start time at McLane Stadium at Kobs Field.
Additionally, MSU's previously scheduled game vs. Bowling Green is moving from April 16 to May 7, with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
The Spartans will also be altering a home game vs. Eastern Michigan, moving from May 8 to May 14, replacing a previously scheduled game at Western Michigan. The MSU vs. EMU contest is slated for a 6:05 p.m. first pitch at McLane Stadium at Kobs Field.
The Spartans open the 2024 season in Charleston, South Carolina at the Swig & Swine Classic at Shipyard Park, facing Merrimack on Feb. 16.
Michigan State baseball kickoff the 2024 season by holding its 18th Annual First Pitch Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024 at the Kellogg Center in East Lansing. This year's event will feature actor, comedian and Emmy Award-winning writer Robert Wuhl as the keynote speaker, while honoring Dr. Tom Dieters as the Alumnus of the Year.
