What do you want to do if it weren't for basketball?
I would probably be coaching. My dad coached me, and I really look up to him.
Why did you choose Michigan State?
I chose Michigan State because of how nice and family-oriented this place is. Everything here is so connected. Everyone is so nice, everyone bonds together. I just loved it here (on my visits).
What would you tell someone who is coming to Michigan State to play basketball?
It's not easy, but it's definitely the best for you. It's going to get you right — mentally right, physically right, and coaches are going to prepare you for life.
If you could play another position, what would you play and why?
A three or a two guard. As a big, you always want to stretch the floor a bit more. Playing up a position would be fun.
If you could play another sport what would it be and why?
Football, just because of the physicality, and I watch all of my cousins play. I would play tight end or defensive end. I really like D-end because I don't like being on the ball as much.
Favorite form of social media?
Instagram because I can see all my people form back home. Everyone's on there the most.
Who is your favorite person to follow?
All of the different MSU pages.
If you could have dinner with any 3 people, dead or alive, who would they be and why?
LeBron James, my grandpa who I am named after and never met, and Aaron Rodgers, because I looked up to him when I was young.
Favorite sport to follow at Michigan State other than yours (or what sport are you excited to see?)
Football. My cousin (Montorie Foster) is on the team, so I'm looking forward to going to all of his games.
What song is on your headphones in the locker room right before taking the court?
I like gospel music, so I just play gospel music before games.
What is your dream vacation?
Dubai.
What's the best thing about getting to play Big Ten basketball?
The exposure and being on national TV, like the way everyone preaches from my city. I have the whole city rooting for me. I have a lot on my back, so I'm looking forward to playing at this type of caliber level.
What's the best way to describe Coach Izzo?
Enthusiastic. He really looks into the little things, and that's what he focuses on and makes sure we do.
One word to describe a Michigan State basketball player?
Tough
Who would play you in a movie?
Del Monroe
Tell us one thing people don't know about you?
I am a three-time state champion.
