
Gaynor Tabbed CSC Second Team Academic All-America

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's soccer graduate midfielder Justina Gaynor earned Second Team Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), as announced by the organization Wednesday.Â
Gaynor becomes the first two-time CSC Academic All-American in program history with the award after collecting First Team honors in 2023. It is the fifth CSC Academic All-America recognition overall for the Spartans and third in as many years. MSU Hall of Famer Laura (Heyboer) Heethius was the first Spartan to collect the honor in 2011, followed by Gabrielle Gauruder in 2015 and Ruby Diodati in 2022.Â
The Shelby Township, Michigan, native was named to the All-Big Ten First Team for the third-consecutive season in 2024, becoming the second Spartan behind Heyboer to be recognized with at least three All-Big Ten First Team honors. She was also named to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region First Team and collected Third Team All-America honors from the United Soccer Coaches. Gaynor finished her career in the Green and White ranked ninth in the MSU record books in assists with 20, 16th in points with 54 and 20th in total goals with 17. This season, she totaled 16 points from five goals and a team-leading six assists. All five of Gaynor's goals in 2024 were game winners. Â
Gaynor was also named CSC Academic All-District and Academic All-Big Ten this season after posting a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in Sport Coaching, Leadership and Administration. Overall, she is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, two-time CSC Academic All-American and 2022 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American. Â
She is one of six Big Ten representatives on this year's Academic All-America teams.Â
