KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Michigan State women's soccer graduate midfielder Justina Gaynor was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team, the organization announced Friday.Â
Gaynor becomes the fourth United Soccer Coaches All-American in program history, joining MSU Hall of Famer Laura (Heyboer) Heethius and former Spartan teammates Lauren DeBeau and Lauren Kozal. Her designation is the seventh overall for MSU, as Heethius collected the honor three times throughout her career (2008-10) and Kozal was twice named an All-American (2021-22).Â
She is one of seven players from the Big Ten to earn All-America honors.Â
The Shelby Township, Michigan, native was named to the All-Big Ten First Team for the third-consecutive season in 2024, becoming the second Spartan behind Heyboer to be recognized with at least three All-Big Ten First Team honors. She also was named All-North Region by the United Soccer Coaches earlier this week. Gaynor finished her career in the Green and White ranked ninth in the MSU record books in assists with 20, 16th in points with 54 and 20th in total goals with 17. This season, she totaled 16 points from five goals and a team-leading six assists. All five of Gaynor's goals in 2024 were game winners.Â
A standout in the classroom, Gaynor is a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, 2022 United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American and 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-American. Earlier this year, she was named MSU's recipient of the Big Ten Medal of Honor.Â
This year's All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, in Chicago, in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.Â
