
Field Hockey Announces 2024 Schedule

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State field hockey head coach Helen Knull announced the 2024 schedule highlighted by an 18-game slate with nine games held at Ralph young field.
The Spartans will open the season with a pair of exhibitions against in-state foes. The Green and White will take the quick trip to Mount Pleasant, Michigan, as it takes on Central Michigan on Tuesday, Aug. 20, then caps off the preseason in Ann Arbor against Michigan on Friday, Aug. 23.
MSU opens its regular season going back to Cali' for the first time since the 2022 season for a weekend slate against UC Davis on Friday Aug. 30, then squares off with defending America East champions, California, for the first time since 2017 on Sunday, Sept. 1.
Following the West Coast trip, the Spartans will host two-straight home games against Vermont on Friday, Sept. 6, then will go head-to-head with Ohio for the third time in the last four seasons on Sunday, Sept. 8.
The Green and White will travel to Bellarmine to take on the Knights for the second time in program history on Friday, Sept. 13, before returning home in a first ever matchup between MSU and Colgate on Sunday, Sept. 15.
Conference play will begin on the road for the Spartans in Columbus, Ohio, taking on Ohio State on Friday, Sept. 20, then returns to East Lansing where they host in-state rival Michigan on Sunday, Sept. 22.
Non-Conference plays continues for MSU at Ball State on Sunday, Sept. 19, followed by a home midweek matchup against the defending MAC champions, Miami (Ohio), on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The Spartans then host Kent State, the alma mater of Knull.
Michigan State hosts Maryland on Friday, Oct. 11 before it hits the road for three-straight matchups that will begin at Central Michigan on Sunday, Oct. 13. The Spartans will wrap up the road trips with a pair B1G weekend bouts at Rutgers on Friday, Oct. 18 and Penn State on Sunday, Oct. 20.
MSU's final conference home matches will take place on Friday, Oct. 25 against Iowa and Sunday, Oct. 27 against the reigning Big Ten Champions and national runners-up, Northwestern.
An away game at Indiana on Friday, Nov. 1 will conclude the Spartans' regular season.
Maryland will host the 2024 Big Ten Tournament Nov. 6-10 at the Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex in College Park, Maryland.
