Big Ten Announces 2024-25 Hockey Schedule

East Lansing, Mich. -- The Big Ten announced the 2024-25 hockey schedule on Wednesday afternoon (Aug. 28), giving the Spartans their roadmap through the upcoming campaign.Â

The hockey schedule features four games against each of the other six teams in the league. For the upcoming season, MSU will play neutral-site Conference games against Wisconsin (Jan. 4 at Wrigley Field) and Michigan (Feb. 8 in the annual "Duel in the D" game). The Spartans will play each of the other four teams twice at home and twice on the road, with just one home game against Wisconsin (Jan. 2). Michigan will serve as the home team in this year's Duel in the D.  The Spartans will play 16 home games at Mason Rink at Munn Ice Arena.  Â

MSU has three home games and four on the road in the opening month of the season, with non-conference series at Lake Superior State (Friday-Saturday, Oct. 4-5) and at Canisius (Friday-Saturday, Oct. 25-26). MSU opens the 2024-25 home schedule on Friday Oct. 11 against national runner up Boston College and hosts the Eagles in a two-game set. Also on the slate is a Friday, Oct. 18 exhibition game against Windsor during homecoming weekend. Â

The Spartans play most of their November games home. A pair of Big Ten series against Ohio State (Nov. 8-9) and Notre Dame (Nov. 15-16) open the B1G slate. MSU travels for a game against the US National Team Development Program on Thursday, Nov. 21, and then wraps up the month with two games against Lindenwood the weekend after Thanksgiving – the games against the Lions will be Friday, Nov. 29 and Sunday, Dec. 1.

The Spartans head out for a pair of road series at Wisconsin (Dec. 6-7) and Minnesota (Dec. 13-14) before the holiday break, and then will participate in the Great Lakes Invitational at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on Sunday and Monday, Dec. 29-30.Â

A 10-game January opens at Munn Arena on Thursday, Jan. 2 with a game against Wisconsin, and then the teams head to Chicago for the Frozen Confines game at Wrigley Field on Sunday, Jan. 4. MSU then follows with a two-game set at Penn State (Jan. 10-11) in advance of a home-and-home series with Michigan – Friday Jan. 17 will be played in Ann Arbor, with the return engagement on Saturday Jan. 18 at Munn. The Spartans host Minnesota (Jan. 24-25) before heading to Columbus for a Thursday-Friday series at Ohio State (Jan. 30-31).

The final month of the regular season opens with the second set of games against Michigan (Feb. 7 at Munn and Feb. 8 at Little Caesars Arena). MSU has a bye weekend before the two final regular-season series at home against Penn State (Feb. 21-22) and on the road at Notre Dame (Feb. 28-March 1).

The Big Ten tournament begins the weekend of March 8-10 with best-of-three quarterfinal series at campus sites. The B1G semifinals (March 16) and final (March 23)  wrap up the tournament.Â
