Michigan State Women’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 Schedule

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's basketball head coach Robyn Fralick announced the 2024-25 schedule on Thursday in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference. Once again, the Spartans' women's basketball season is presented by MSUFCU.
MSU will play 16 games at the friendly confines of the Breslin Center, beginning with an exhibition against Wayne State on Oct. 28.
For the fourth-straight season, the Big Ten Conference will play an 18-game schedule. MSU also played an 18-game schedule in both 2018-19 and 2019-20. The conference additionally had 18-game schedules in both 2015-16 and 2014-15. This season, the B1G adds four additional teams in Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.
Nine of the Spartans' 2024-25 regular-season opponents competed in the NCAA Tournament last season, as MSU will take on either Arizona or Vanderbilt in the Acrisure Classic. From the Big Ten portion of the schedule, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, UCLA and USC reached the NCAA Tournament, including the Hawkeyes advancing to the National Championship game.
The Spartans open the regular season with four-straight home games, beginning on Nov. 5 against Oakland. This is the second-straight season the two teams have met on opening day. Michigan State will then host Yale (Nov. 8) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 11). The Spartans will conclude their quartet of home contests against Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 14.
Michigan State's first road game will be at Western Michigan on Nov. 17, before hosting Detroit Mercy on Nov. 20. During the week of Thanksgiving, the Spartans will head to Palm Springs, California for the Acrisure Classic, taking on California on Nov. 26. On Nov. 27, MSU will face either Arizona or Vanderbilt.
As the calendar changes to December, the Spartans begin the month with a pair of home games against DePaul (Dec. 8) and Iowa (Dec. 15) in their B1G opener. Michigan State then heads south for the West Palm Beach Classic in Florida Dec. 20-21. After a holiday break, the Spartans end the 2024 portion of the season at Maryland on Dec. 29.
Michigan State will celebrate the New Year hosting Purdue on Jan. 1 before traveling to Nebraska on Jan. 8. MSU will host to B1G member Washington (Jan. 12), before hitting the road for a pair of games at Rutgers (Jan. 15) and Illinois (Jan. 19). The Spartans return home to end the month with two of three games at the Breslin Center, facing Penn State (Jan. 22) at home, Michigan on the road (Jan. 25) and Oregon at home (Jan. 30).
In February, Michigan State starts on the road at Northwestern (Feb. 2), before playing two-straight games at the Breslin Center against Michigan (Feb. 9) and Wisconsin (Feb. 12). The Spartans then hit the road for a lengthy West Coast road swing. MSU will face UCLA on Feb. 16 and USC on Feb. 19. MSU ends February with a home game against Indiana (Feb. 23) before traveling to Ohio State for the road finale (Feb. 26).
Michigan State will celebrate Senior Day in its regular-season finale against Minnesota on March 1.
The 2025 Big Ten Tournament will be held March 5-9 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
