Spartan Women’s Cross Country Dominates EMU Classic

EAST LANSING, Mich. - In the final meet of the regular season, the Michigan State women's cross country team had a dominate performance at the Eastern Michigan Classic at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Michigan.
In the women's 5k race, Sarah Forsyth finished first with a new personal-best time of 17:20.40, while Madison Osterberg was second in her first 5k with a time of 17:21.20.
Cookie Baugh had a standout performance, crossing the line in 17:35.00, which crushed her previous personal best of 17:44.6. Baugh's performance was good enough for fourth place. Morgan Brown took seventh place, crossing the line in 17:49.20. Megan Germain (18:12.40) and Emily Bardwell (18:19.20) finished 11th and 12th, respectively.
Following the Eastern Michigan Classic, Michigan State will host the Big Ten Championships on Friday, Oct. 31. The meet will take place on Forest Akers East Golf Course. This is the first time since 2012 that the Spartans have hosted the B1G Championships.
