
Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Michigan State Classic in Sweeping Success Sunday

Spartans slate victories in final day of play.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women's tennis wrapped up action in the Michigan State Classic presented by Auto Owner's Insurance on Sunday morning at the MSU Outdoor Rec Courts.
The Spartans concluded action of their first home fall tournament with mass success in singles contention Sunday morning.
Singles matches kicked off with senior Sarah Fazlagic and freshman Nina Plihal dominating their respective courts.
Fazlagic faced off against Xingtong Jiang of Western Michigan on court 2. The Spartan controlled her territory, securing the match in her favor, 6-1, 6-1.
Plihal followed closely after, also defeating her Western Michigan opponent, knocking off Ayana Yaguchi in a 6-0, 6-1 win.
Redshirt-junior Hanna Tsitavets took to the court after not competing on Saturday to face off against Western Michigan's Sienna Osborne. Tsitavets ultimately fell to her Bronco opponent in a tought, 6-3, 6-1 loss.
The Spartans return to the courts next weekend, Friday-Sunday, Oct. 10-12 at the Wolverine Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich.
