EAST LANSING, Mich. - Nationally recognized as one of the industry's top fundraisers, Tim House has been appointed Deputy Athletics Director for Development and Strategic Initiatives, Michigan State University Vice President and Director of Athletics J Batt announced.
House comes to Michigan State from Purdue University where he served as Deputy Athletics Director and led the John Purdue Club to record-breaking fundraising and donor engagement success. Named the national fundraiser of the year by the National Association of Athletic Development Directors in 2025, House played a pivotal role in advancing Purdue through strategic fundraising initiatives and donor-driven innovations. Beyond athletics, House served as the Chair of the Victories & Heroes Campaign Planning Committee by Purdue University President Mung Chiang, underscoring his ability to unite donors across the university. In leading Purdue's $4 billion campaign, he was one of just a few athletics administrators to lead a fundraising effort of that scale in higher education.
"Tim House is a dynamic fundraiser who's known throughout the industry as one of the very best in the business," said Batt. "He excels at building relationships and connecting with donors, matching their passion with department priorities. His extensive experience with large projects and transformative opportunities will elevate Michigan State athletics.
"The entire department will benefit from his presence, whether it's in his role as part of the leadership team, serving as a sport administrator, or overseeing the Spartan Fund team and supporting the excellent work already taking place. We are excited to welcome Tim, his wife, Jen, and their family to their new home at Michigan State."
As Deputy Athletics Director for Development and Strategic Initiatives, House will lead and elevate a comprehensive advancement strategy for Michigan State Athletics, driving philanthropic growth and donor engagement. Part of that strategy will include ambitious, measurable fundraising goals aligned with university priorities and athletic department needs and initiatives. In addition to having the Spartan Fund report to him, House will serve on AD Batt's leadership team and supervise multiple Spartan teams, along with managing and interfacing with a variety of key initiatives that position Michigan State for success amid an evolving intercollegiate athletics landscape.
"My family and I feel blessed to serve the Michigan State community alongside visionary leaders like AD J Batt and President Kevin Guskiewicz," said House. "I have seen the power of the Spartan family firsthand, and building champions with them at the greatest moment of opportunity in the history of college athletics is beyond inspiring. Thank you to J, Kim Tobin and the entire search committee for this amazing opportunity! Go Green!"
Under House's leadership, the John Purdue Club experienced many firsts, including the largest overall fundraising year in Purdue Athletics history ($80M), the first ever $17 million annual fund campaign in 2025, the largest cash gift ($20 million) in Purdue Athletics history, and the largest single day of giving ($13.1 million) in Purdue history. He's also demonstrated innovation in fundraising initiatives, with the More Than A Game campaign ($18+ million raised) during the COVID-19 pandemic and the Forging Ahead campaign ($18.69 million goal), designed to enhance recruiting, retention and student-athlete development across all 18 Boilermaker sports programs. Additionally, the John Purdue Club has funded projects for all 18 of Purdue's varsity programs in his time in West Lafayette, including a football stadium renovation, a new dining facility, new locker rooms for both basketball programs, a new $32 million golf clubhouse, and more. House also developed the Boilermaker Athletics Representative (BAR) program, where every ticket buyer and donor has a personal concierge for the Purdue athletics experience.
Beyond his fundraising expertise, House has been a valued member of the senior leadership team for Purdue Athletics. As the sport administrator for men's and women's golf, the Boilermakers have experienced great success on the course and in the classroom. Purdue is one of just seven schools to send both the men and women to the national championships the past two years. In 2022, he received the Joe Tiller Award, voted by Purdue student-athletes as the staff member who did the most to support them.
Before his arrival in West Lafayette, House held leadership and fundraising positions at Army West Point, the University of Pennsylvania, Duke University, Belmont University and Vanderbilt University.
House graduated from North Carolina State with a bachelor's degree in sport management (2008) and earned a Masters in sport administration from Belmont (2010). His family includes his wife, Jen, and three daughters, Emerson, Leah and Harper.
