Field Hockey Boasts 18 NFHCA Academic Honorees

East Lansing, Mich. --Â The National Field Hockey Coaches Assoociation (NFHCA) has announced its list of student-athletes honored this season with 2024 Division I National Academic Squad honors as well as its 2024 Division I Scholars of Distinction.Â

A total of 18 Spartans have earned National Academic Squad honors, achieved  by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher through the fall semester.  WIth 11 athletes qualifying for Scholar of Distinction accolades, Michigan State boasts the second-most honorees among the NFHCA Scholars of Distinction, who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or better through the fall 2024 semester.   In addition, three seniors -  Jillian Bonczewski, Emma O'Neill, and Ellie Rutherford – are among the field hockey student-athletes nationwide to earn these honors for the fourth consecutive season.

 The National Academic Team Award will be announced on Feb. 18), which recognizes programs that earned a team grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the fall semester of the current academic year.
