Men’s Golf in Fourth Place at Watersound Invitational

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team shot a 1-under par 287 and is in fourth place among 12 teams after the first round of play at Watersound Invitational, hosted by Florida State at Sharks Tooth Golf Course in Lake Powell, Fla.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament continues on Tuesday, Feb. 18, with the final round on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The 12-team field includes six teams ranked among the top-25 in the country.
Junior Caleb Bond leads the Spartans, standing in a tie for third place at 3-under par 69. Bond had three birdies and 15 pars during his opening round.
Sophomore Lucas Acevedo is one shot back, tied for sixth place at 2-under par 70.
Freshmen Drew Miller and Julian Menser are tied for 37th place with scores of 2-over par 74 and sophomore Lorenzo Pinili is tied for 46th place at 3-over par 75.
The Spartans tee of on Tuesday morning in the second round at 9:10 a.m. from the first hole, playing alongside Notre Dame and NC State.
