Michigan State Tied for Seventh Place at Purdue Puerto Rico Classic

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's women's golf team shot a 6-over par 294 and is tied for seventh place among 18 teams following two rounds of the Purdue Puerto Rico Classic, being played at the Grand Reserve Golf Club in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament, which includes 12 teams ranked among the top-50 in the country in the latest NCAA rankings, concludes on Tuesday morning with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Second Round Results
Vanderbilt leads the field at 11-under par 565, with Ole Miss second at 6-under par 570. Arkansas is in third place (4-under par 572), Northwestern is fourth (3-under par 573) and Auburn and LSU are tied for fifth place (4-over par 580). The Spartans are shot back at 5-over par 581 in a tie for seventh place with Kansas State.
Senior Brooke Biermann and junior Taylor Kehoe are the leaders for the Spartans, tied for 15th place at even-par 144. Biermann, who shot a 3-under par 69 on Sunday, finished with a 3-over par 75 in Monday's round for her even-par 144 (69-75). Kehoe had the team's best round of the day at 1-under par 71 to close at even-par 144 (73-71).
Senior Katie Lu is tied for 24th place at 1-over par 145 (72-73), while sophomore Ana Sofia Murica is tied for 45th place at 3-over par 148 (73-75) and freshman Catalina Monroy is tied for 82nd place at 9-over par 153 (77-76).
Junior Paula Balanzategui, playing as an individual, is tied for seventh place at 3-under par 142 (69-72).
In Tuesday's final round, Michigan State will tee off starting at 7:30 a.m. (ET) on the 4th hole, playing alongside Auburn, LSU and Kansas State.
