MSU Women’s Basketball Earns the No. 6 Seed in Big Ten Tournament

The Spartans will play the winner of the game between No.11 Iowa and No. 14 Wisconsin.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's basketball will be the No. 6 seed in the upcoming 2025 TIAA Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament, which will be held Wednesday-Sunday, March 5-9 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Spartans (21-8, 11-7 Big Ten) earned the No. 6 seed for the first time since the 206-17 season. Michigan State will play in the second round on Thursday, March 6 at approximately 9 p.m. on BTN. MSU will play the winner of the game between No. 11-seeded Iowa and No. 14-seeded Wisconsin. The Hawkeyes and the Badgers will meet on Wednesday, March 5.
Big Ten regular-season champions USC earned the No. 1 seed, while UCLA and Ohio State captured the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, respectively. No. 4-seeded Ohio State is the final team to earn the double bye.
This is only the third time that the Spartans have been the No. 6 seed. The last time that the Spartans earned the sixth seed was in 2017. That season, the Spartans fell to Maryland in the semifinals. The last time MSU faced Iowa was in the 2021 tournament in Indianapolis. The No. 6-seeded Hawkeyes stopped the No. 7-seeded Spartans, 82-72. The last time that MSU has faced Wisconsin in the 2017 Big Ten Tournament, winning in the second round, 70-63.

All 14 games of this year's Big Ten Tournament will be broadcast live to a national audience, starting with the opening round being streamed on Peacock. The Big Ten Network (and the FOX Sports app) will broadcast the second round through semifinal games from Thursday to Saturday. The championship game on Sunday, March 9 will tip off at 4:30 p.m. on CBS and will be the second time the network has carried the title game.
