
Spartans Finish Tied for 11th Place at NCAA Tallahassee Regional

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team posted its best round of the tournament on Wednesday in the final round and finished in a tie for 11th place at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional, being played at the Seminole Legacy Golf Course in Tallahassee, Fla.
The top five teams in the regional advance to next week's NCAA Championships.
Host Florida State led from start to finish and topped the 14-team field at 29-under par 835 (274-281-280). Ole Miss finished in second place at 20-under par 844, with New Mexico third at 14-under par 850, Georgia in fourth at 7-under par 857 and Augusta rounded out the top-five teams at 3-under par 861.
The Spartans shot a 4-under par 284 in the third round – tied for the fifth-best team round of the day – and tied for 11th place at 13-over par 877 (292-301-284).
Freshman Drew Miller was the top finisher for the Spartans, tying for 32nd place at 3-over par 219 (74-75-70). This was the first time leading the team this season and the freshman closed with a 2-under par 70 in Wednesday's final round.
Junior Caleb Bond tied for 35th place at 4-over par 220 (70-76-74), posting a 2-over par 74 in the third round, while freshman Julian Menser tied for 39th place at 5-over par 221 (74-76-71), closing with a 1-under par 71.
Sophomore Lorenzo Pinili tied for 45th place at 7-over par 223 (74-74-75) and classmate Lucas Acevedo posted the team's best round of the day, firing a 3-under par 69 to tie for 50th place at 8-over par 224 (76-79-69).
The Spartans were making their fourth-straight appearance in an NCAA Regional and the eighth in the last nine years.
