East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State junior men's golfer Caleb Bond was selected to the Division I All-Midwest Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Bond, who transferred to the Spartans after two years at Ferris State, helped lead Michigan State to an NCAA Regional appearance for the fourth-straight season and the eighth in the last nine years. MSU finished in third place at the Big Ten Championships, posted a team win at the Colleton River Collegiate and had six top-five finishes during the year, including four in the Spring season.
Bond was among the leaders for the Spartans, finishing the season with a 71.69 scoring average in 12 events over 35 rounds. His 71.69 scoring average was a personal best and ranks as the sixth-lowest single-season average in Michigan State history.
The junior had 97.1 percent of his rounds count toward the team total this year (34-of-35), posted one top-5 finish, four among the top-10 and nine among the top-20 in 12 events. He was the team's top finisher four times, including four of eight events in the Spring. In the second half of the season, Bond carried a team-best 70.83 average in eight events (23 rounds).
Bond had his best finish of the season with a second-place showing at the Boilermaker Invitational on April 19-20, firing a 9-under par 204 (67-68-69). His score of 204 was tied for the sixth-lowest 54-hole score in program history.
Bond, who was a Division II GCAA Third Team All-America selection in 2024, earned All-Big Ten Conference Second Team honors this year.
