NCAA Regional Play Begins for Michigan State Women’s Golf on Monday in Oklahoma

East Lansing, Mich. – – Michigan State's women's golf team arrived in Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, played a practice round on Sunday and will begin play in the NCAA Normal Regional on Monday, May 5 at the OU Jimmie Austin Golf Club.
The regional was originally scheduled to be played over three days, but inclement weather will force the field to play 36 holes on Monday. The teams will start off at 8:30 a.m. ET and playing continuously. The final 18 holes will be played on either Tuesday or Wednesday
The Spartans tee off on Monday at 8:30 a.m., playing with Duke and host Oklahoma.

Overall this year, the Spartans have finished among the top-five teams eight times, including six finishes among the top-three teams and one team win, firing a 4-under par 860 to win the Spartan Sun Coast Invitational in February.
Biermann has been the leader for Michigan State this year, carrying a team-best 71.62 scoring average, with four top-5 finishes, five top-10s and nine among the top-20 in 10 events. Biermann, who has been the team's top finisher seven times this year, has a 71.94 average in the spring with five top-20 finishes. Her season scoring average of 71.62 currently ranks as the fourth-best average for a single-season in program history.
Junior Taylor Kehoe is second on the team in scoring average (72.29), with one top-five finish, four top-10s and seven among the top-20 overall. A transfer from Alabama, Kehoe has had 95.8 percent of her rounds count toward the team total (23-of-24) rounds and had her best finish of the season last week, placing fifth at the Buckeye Invitational. Her 72.29 scoring average currently ranks as the seventh-best single season average in program history.
Senior Katie Lu is third on the team in scoring average at 72.82, with one top-five finish, two top-10 and six among the top-20 in 10 events. Lu's best finish this year was a tie for fifth place at 1-under par 145 in the rain-shortened Valspar Augusta Invitational on March 15-16.
Biermann and Lu enter the postseason with career scoring averages at Michigan State that rank among the top-five in program history. Biermann is third all-time with a 72.94 scoring average, while Lu ranks fourth all-time at 73.37.
The MSU lineup this weekend also includes junior Paula Balanzategui and sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia. A junior, Balanzategui is fourth on the team with a 74.15 scoring average, including a 72.88 average in the spring that is the second-best on the squad. Murcia is fifth on the team with a 74.48 scoring average, including a 74.53 mark in six spring events. Her best finish this year was a tie for 18th place at the Valspar Augusta Invitational at 6-over par 150. Freshman Catalina Monroy is sixth on the team with a 75.25 average and has two top-20 finishes.

Home to Oklahoma men's and women's golf, Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club is located in Norman, Oklahoma on the University of Oklahoma campus. It features rolling hills, native grasses and majestic Bur Oaks with 77.9-course rating (Championship/Team tees). In 2023, Golfweek named "The Jimmie" the No. 6 Campus Golf Course in the country, and No. 1 in the Southeastern Conference. The course has hosted the 2013 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links Championship and NCAA Regional Championships in 2012, 2018, 2022, 2023 (men's) and 2013, 2019 and 2025 (women's).
