
Michigan State Men’s Soccer Releases 2025 Schedule

The Spartans will face eight teams that reached the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's soccer head coach Damon Rensing announced the Spartans' 2025 schedule on Tuesday.
For the second-straight season, Michigan State will play 10 league contests, as there are now 11 B1G teams sponsoring men's soccer with the addition of Washington and UCLA last season.
MSU will take on eight teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season, including Big Ten opponents Washington, Ohio State, Indiana, Michigan, UCLA and Maryland. Non-conference opponents Pitt and Kansas City also both reached the NCAA Tournament. Ohio State also reached the College Cup last season.
The Spartans will host nine regular-season games at the friendly confines of DeMartin Stadium. Michigan State ended last season 12th in the nation in attendance, averaging 1,805 fans per game, which was also fifth in the Big Ten.
Michigan State begins preparation for the season with a pair of exhibitions, beginning at DeMartin Stadium against Butler (Aug. 10) and on the road at UIC (Aug. 15). The Spartans will open the regular season hosting UC Riverside (Aug.21) before traveling to Pitt (Aug. 25).
MSU starts September with a trio of non-conference games, beginning with Detroit on Sept. 1 for a Labor Day battle. The Spartans will then head to Bowling Green on Sept. 5. The last in the trilogy of non-conference game will occur on Sept. 8 against Oakland. Michigan State opens Big Ten action against 2024 Big Ten Tournament Champion Ohio State at De Martin Stadium on Sept. 19, before hosting perennial powerhouse Indiana (Sept. 23). The Green and White end September with the Battle for the Big Bear Trophy against Michigan in Ann Arbor on Sept. 26.
As the calendar changes to October, MSU will host Penn State (Oct. 1), before traveling to Northwestern (Oct. 11). The Spartans will close out the two-game road swing at Wisconsin (Oct. 7). Michigan State will return to the friendly confines of DeMartin Stadium to take on UCLA in Big Ten play on Oct. 20. The Spartans will close out non-conference action hosting Kansas City on Oct. 26. MSU's final conference road game will be at Rutgers (Oct. 31).
MSU will conclude the regular season at home against Maryland on Nov. 7.
This season, the Big Ten Tournament will be trimmed to the top four teams in the league. The tournament will be held Nov. 12 and 16 at the site of the No. 1 seed.
