East Lansing, Mich. -- Kennedy Bell (Charlotte, NC) has been named the National Player of the Week by Top Drawer Soccer, and also earned Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, Sept. 23.  Bell earns her first career Offensive Player of the Week award
Â
Bell had herself a week, with three goals and an assist for seven points against the two California Big Ten  schools. She scored MSU's lone goal against No. 4 UCLA, and then had a hand  in every MSU goal scored in the run of play on Sunday vs Southern California, scoring two goals and adding an assist. Her seven points in the week was nearly double any other Big Ten player.Â
Â
Bell shares the Big Ten lead in goals (7), which ranks 15th among Division I players. Her 16 points ranks second in the Big Ten and 25th nationally.   Through 10 games this season, she has doubled her three career goals and nearly doubled her nine career points that she scored in two seasons at Maryland, where her role was primarily as a defensive player.   In 46 career Division I games, the junior has 10 goals and five assists for 25 points. Her brace against USC was her first as a Spartan and the second of her career. She had a two-goal game in 2024 at Maryland against VCU.Â
Bell and the Spartans head out of the road this week for a pair of Big Ten games. MSU plays on Thursday at Minnesota (8 pm ET) and will take on Wisconsin in Madison on Sunday at 1 pm ET.
