EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State men's basketball Associate Head Coach Doug Wojcik was named to the list of 100 Most Impactful High Major Assistant Coaches for 2026, presented by Silver Waves Media.
Wojcik, in his eighth year on the Michigan State staff, is in his second season as the associate head coach for the Spartans.
Last year, Wojcik was named the Big Ten Conference's Howard Moore Assistant Coach of the Year Award after helping guide the Spartans to the Big Ten regular season championship, winning the league by three games with a 17-3 conference record. MSU finished the season with a 30-7 overall record, reached the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament and ranked No. 7 in the Associated Press poll.
A veteran of more than 30 years in college basketball, Wojcik returned to East Lansing in 2018-19 and has helped guide the Spartans to three Big Ten regular season titles (2019, 2020, 2025), a Big Ten Tournament title (2019) and the 2019 Final Four, while making seven NCAA Tournament appearances, extending the program's NCAA Tournament streak to 27 years, officially recognized by the NCAA as the nation's longest active streak.
Wojcik, who in nine years as a head coach at the College of Charleston and Tulsa won 178 games, carried a .595 winning percentage and led four teams to postseason play.
He previously spent two years (2003-05) at Michigan State as an assistant and associate head coach and was part of the 2005 Final Four team.
A native of Wheeling, W.Va., Wojcik played high school basketball for legendary Xavier and Wake Forest head coach Skip Prosser. He graduated from Navy in 1987 with a degree in physical science after a stellar playing career. Wojcik was a three-year starter and team captain and helped lead the Mids to three consecutive conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances, including an Elite Eight trip in 1986, with a combined record of 82-17 during that span. He still ranks as the all-time leader in assists (714, 7.21 per game).
