Michigan State Baseball Announces Addition To Signing Class

MSU adds player for 2027 roster.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State baseball head coach Jake Boss Jr., announced an additional member of MSU's 2025 signing class, signing another future Spartan for the 2027 roster.
While the previous 12 Spartan signees were from the high school ranks, the recent signing of Maverick Williamson (INF • Salina, Okla. • Salina HS/Neosho County CC) is a junior college transfer, for 13 total Spartan signees.
Williamson joins the previous 12 other players in the 2025 Spartan signing class: Zane Caves (LHP • Minooka, Ill. / Minooka HS), Maddux Kipling (RHP • Spring Lake, Mich. / Spring Lake HS), Brayden Loquasto ("Low-Quas-Toe") (LHP • Roswell, Ga. / Blessed Trinity HS), Jack Manzella (RHP • Fraser, Mich. / Fraser HS), Cole Novara ("Nuh-Varra") (OF • Dexter, Mich. / Dexter HS), Cam Pallo ("Pal-low") (RHP • Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern HS), Paddy Roth (RHP • Chicago, Ill. / Saint Patrick HS ), Xan Scheinfield ("Zan Shine-feld") (LHP • Franklin, Mich. / Wylie E. Named the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Baseball East Division Freshman of the Year as well as tabbed to the All-KJCCC Baseball East Division First Team and the All-Region 6 First Team lists ... Played one season at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas for coach Steve Murry, playing 54 games with 53 starts, seeing action both at first base and pitching ... At the plate, hit 21 home runs, which led Neosho, topped the KJCCC East Division and ranked tied for eighth in the NJCAA ... Also drove in 75 RBI, which also led the KJCCC and ranked tied for 18th in the NJCAA ... Posted a .359 average, with a .425 on-base percentage and a .755 slugging percentage ... Tallied 69 total hits, including 13 doubles, scoring 55 runs ... Logged 192 at-bats, with only 39 strikeouts and drew 17 walks and was hit by pitch eight times ... Added three stolen bases ... Named the KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week on April 29, 2025 after he had a monster week, going 10-for-22 with seven extra-base hits including six HR and 20 RBI, with a HR in five of the six games in the week, including a two-run HR vs. Fort Scott, while racking up at least two RBI in each of the six games ... Also garnered KJCCC Baseball East Division Player of the Week accolades on March 25 after helping the Panthers to three wins over in-state opponents, with all eight of his hits on the week going for extra bases, with four home runs, including a three-HR outing against Butler, and had an extra-base hit in four of the five games in the week, finishing the week with a 1.263 slugging percentage with 13 RBI and six runs scored ... On the mound, made 10 appearances with three starts, firing 31 strikeouts against 13 walks, in 47.1 innings pitched ... Played summer league for the Sherman Shadowcats of the Texas Collegiate League.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a three-year letterwinner at Salina High School for coach Matt Simmons ... Earned First Team Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association (OBCA) Middle East All-State accolades ... Named the Three Rivers Baseball Player of the Year as a senior, and also tabbed the District Player of the Year as both a junior and senior ... Led the Wildcats to the state semi-finals ... Posted a .489 average as a senior, with a .669 on-base percentage and an .870 slugging percentage, with 45 hits, including 26 singles, 11 doubles and eight HR, logging 41 RBI and 46 runs scored, drawing 42 walks and just seven strikeouts, adding eight stolen bases ... On the mound, chalked up 89 strikeouts in 54.1 IP with an 8-0 record and a 1.16 ERA, firing three no-hitters ... Was ranked as the No. 2 1B/RHP and the No. 57 overall player in the state of Oklahoma by Prep Baseball Report (PBR) ... Was a three-time Oklahoma OSSAA state champion in wrestling at heavyweight (2022-24), and between his older and younger brothers, a Williamson brother has won the last five heavyweight state titles (2021-25) ... Tabbed to All-State wrestling team as a senior ... Finished career as a four-time state finalist with a 131-8 career record, going unbeaten in dual matches ... Also played football, earning OSSAA 2A-8 All-District honors and the Defensive End of the Year Award, playing defensive end, tight end and offensive tackle.Â
PERSONAL: Son of Ashley Temple-Morrow ... Older brother, Johnny Williamson, won a Oklahoma High School State Championship in wrestling in 2021 and after finishing as state runner-up in 2020 at Salina High School, while younger brother, Konway Williamson, won the 2025 OSSAA state title, and also plays football at Salina HS, while cousin, Gage Walker, is a wrestler at Missouri ... Lists greatest athletic experience as getting to travel across the country playing baseball and wrestling as a kid and continuing to travel across the country in college playing baseball ... Intends on majoring in sports management at MSU.
