This Week In Spartan Athletics – February 24
Here's a look at the week ahead (February 24-March 2) for Michigan State Athletics:
Track & Field
Michigan State will compete this weekend at the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis. The competition begins Thursday and runs through Saturday.
Hockey
No. 1 Michigan State hosts Ohio State in the final home series of the regular season for the Spartans. Friday night, the puck drops at 8:30 p.m. Saturday night's Senior Night contest begins at 8 p.m. Both games will be televised by Big Ten Network.
Women's Basketball
No. 15 Michigan State closes out the regular season at home on Sunday against No. 13 Ohio State. The Spartans will look to improve their seeding for the Big Ten Tournament which runs March 4-8 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Men's Basketball
With two weeks left in the regular season, No. 13 Michigan State plays a pair of road contests in the Hoosier State this week. Thursday, the Spartans are in West Lafayette to face No. 8 Purdue. Sunday, MSU plays at Indiana.
Women's Gymnastics
No. 11 Michigan State will travel to No. 13 Minnesota to compete in the Big Four Meet on Sunday. In addition to competing against the Gophers, Rutgers and Illinois will also be participating.
Softball
Michigan State will play five games over three days in the John Cropp Classic hosted by the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Friday, the Spartans play Murray State, followed by a contest against the host Wildcats. Saturday sees the Spartans face the same two opponents. MSU concludes the weekend with a Sunday contest against Dayton.
Baseball
Spartan baseball makes its annual trip to Flour Field in Greenville, South Carolina, hosting the 2026 First Pitch Invitational. Friday, Michigan State hosts Illinois in a non-conference contest. Saturday, the Spartans play Albany, followed by a Sunday match-up with James Madison.
Men's Tennis
Michigan State will participate in the Diablos Collegiate Invitational in Tempe, Arizona. The tournament runs Friday and Saturday.
Women's Tennis
Michigan State opens Big Ten play Saturday at No. 2 Ohio State. The Spartans finished the non-conference portion of the season with a 6-3 mark.
Men's Golf
Michigan State will compete at the Colleton River Collegiate Sunday-Monday. The tournament will be played at the Dye Course at the Colleton River Club in Bluffton, South Carolina.
