East Lansing, Mich. – Junior forward Coen Carr was one of 10 players selected to the Mid-Season Top-10 for the 2026 Julius Erving Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced.
Carr was one of 10 players selected to the Mid-Season Top-10 for the award, which is named after Julius Erving for the top small forward in college basketball.
He has helped lead the Spartans to a 19-4 overall record, including a 9-3 record in the Big Ten Conference. MSU is currently ranked No. 10 in the country in the latest Associated Press Top 25 and the ESPN Coaches poll.
Carr is third on the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, while adding 1.4 assists. He has scored in double figures 15 times this year, with a career-high 22 points against Oakland.
Fans are encouraged to participate in Fan Voting in both of the remaining rounds starting on Friday, February 6, on hoophallawards.com. The Fan Vote will count as one committee vote during the finalist selection process.
In mid-March, the Mid-Season Top 10 list will be narrowed to just five, and in late March, five finalists will be presented to Erving and the Hall of Fame's selection committees, where winners will be selected. The Selection Committees for the Julius Award is composed of top men's college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors, and Hall of Famers.
The winners of the 2026 Erving Award will be presented on a to-be-determined date, along with the four other members of the Men's and Starting Five.
