Spartan Women’s Basketball Earns the No. 7 Seed in Big Ten Tournament

MSU will play the winner of the game between No.10 Illinois and No. 15 Wisconsin.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's basketball will be the No. 7 seed in the upcoming 2026 Allstate Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament, which will be held Wednesday-Sunday, March 4-8 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The Spartans (22-7, 11-7 Big Ten) earned the No. 7 seed for the first time since the 1998-99 season. Michigan State will play in the second round on Thursday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. on BTN. MSU will play the winner of the game between No. 10-seeded Illinois and No. 15-seeded Wisconsin. The Illini and the Badgers will meet on Wednesday, March 4.
Big Ten regular-season champions UCLA earned the No. 1 seed, while Iowa and Michigan captured the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, respectively. No. 4-seeded Minnesota is the final team to earn the double bye.
This is only the second time that the Spartans have been the No. 7 seed. In 1999, Michigan State went 1-1 as the No. 7 seed. In the first round, MSU defeated Indiana, 88-69. In the quarterfinals, the Spartans fell to Penn State, 79-74.
Single-session tickets are on sale and available for $23.50 to $54.45, depending on the session. Prices are inclusive of all Ticketmaster and facility fees.
All 14 games of this year's tournament will be broadcast live to a national audience, starting with the opening round being streamed on Peacock. The Big Ten Network (and the FOX Sports app) will broadcast the second round through semifinal games from Thursday to Saturday. The championship game on Sunday, March 8, will tip off at 2:15 p.m. ET on CBS, the third time the network has carried the title game.
