This Week In Spartan Athletics – March 31
Here's a look at the week ahead (March 31-April 6) for Michigan State Athletics:
Women's Gymnastics
Michigan State will compete in the NCAA Regionals on Thursday in Tempe, Arizona. The No. 11 Spartans will compete against No. 6 Georgia, BYU and Southern Utah, with the top two teams advancing to Saturday's Regional Final. Thursday's competition begins at 4 p.m. ET and can be viewed on ESPN+.
Men's Tennis
No. 20 Michigan State will take its perfect Big Ten record on the road as it heads to the Pacific Northwest. Friday, MSU will play at Washington, followed by a Sunday contest at No. 53 Oregon.
Track & Field
The lone home meet of the season for Michigan State track & field, the Spartan Invitational, is scheduled for Friday. The track meet is sponsored by Auto-Owners Insurance.
Softball
Spartan softball is scheduled for four home games at Secchia Stadium this week. Wednesday, Michigan State hosts Detroit Mercy at 5 p.m. Friday, MSU begins a three-game set against Illinois at 5 p.m. The Spartans and Illini are scheduled for 1 p.m. starts on both Saturday and Sunday.
Baseball
Michigan State opens the week playing the Lansing Lugnuts in the annual Crosstown Showdown, Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Jackson Field in Lansing. The Spartans will then return to Big Ten action, traveling to Northwestern for a three-game series beginning Friday.
Rowing
Michigan State will compete against Eastern Michigan Saturday at 10 a.m. at Ford Lake in Ypsilanti.
Women's Golf
The Spartans will travel to North Carolina for a one-day competition in the North Carolina Challenge Cup. The event will be contested at Finley Golf Club in Chapel Hill on Saturday.
Women's Tennis
No. 75 Michigan State is on the road for a pair of Big Ten matches this week. Saturday, the Spartans are at No. 59 Northwestern, followed by a Sunday contest at No. 54 Illinois.
Men's Soccer
Michigan State hosts Marshall Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in an exhibition contest.
Women's Soccer
The exhibition season continues for Michigan State with a Saturday contest against Bowling Green at 6 p.m. at DeMartin Soccer Complex.
