This Week In Spartan Athletics – April 14
Here's a look at the week ahead (April 14-20) for Michigan State Athletics:
Football
Michigan State Athletics will welcome fans to Spartan Stadium on Saturday, April 18 to get a first look at head coach Pat Fitzgerald and the 2026 Spartans when it hosts the Spring Showcase presented by Michigan Achievement Scholarship. Women's Gymnastics
Three Spartans will represent Michigan State at the NCAA Championships on Thursday in Fort Worth, Texas. Nikki Smith qualified as an all-around competitor. Sage Kellerman will compete on the vault and on bars, while Gabi Ortiz will participate on the floor. This is the fifth straight season that Michigan State has been represented on the NCAA Championships stage.
Men's Tennis
No. 23 Michigan State enters the final week of the regular season tied for first place in the Big Ten standings. Friday, the Spartans will host No. 55 Indiana (5 p.m.), followed by a Sunday dual vs. Purdue (12 p.m.). MSU can clinch at least a share of a Big Ten Championship with two victories.
Baseball
Michigan State opens the week with non-conference games on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, the Spartans host Oakland at Jeff Ishbia Field at McLane Stadium (6:02 p.m.), followed by a Wednesday contest against Western Michigan at LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park, Mich. The week concludes with a three-game series at Washington on Friday-Sunday.
Women's Golf
Michigan State will compete in the Buckeye Invitational at the Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday and Saturday. It's the final tune-up before next weekend's Big Ten Championships. The last time out, the Spartans placed first in the 13-team Carolina Challenge Cup.
Softball
Michigan State travels to Evanston for a three-game series at Northwestern this Friday through Sunday.
Track & Field
Members of the track & field program will compete in two different meets this weekend. Thursday and Friday, some Spartans will be in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the Wake Forest Invitational. Others will travel to Lincoln, Nebraska, for the Big Red Classic on Friday and Saturday.
Rowing
Michigan State will compete at the Big Ten Invitational at Lake Natoma in Sacramento, California, on Saturday and Sunday. The Spartans are serving as the host for the event, which includes every Big Ten crew as well as several other invited programs.
Women's Tennis
No. 67 Michigan State closes out the regular season at home against No. 17 Michigan Saturday at 1 p.m.
Men's Golf
Michigan State closes out the regular season on Monday with the Muirfield Shootout at the Country Club of Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio.
