McCulloch and Bond in Hunt at NCAA Columbus Regional

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State senior men's golfers Ashton McCulloch and Caleb Bond remain in the hunt for the top individual spot after two rounds of play at the NCAA Columbus Regional, being played at the OSU Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament concludes on Wednesday.
The Spartans were among a group of 45 individuals (and 71 teams) selected to play in one of six regionals leading up to the NCAA Championships, which will be held from May 29 to June 3 at the Omni LaCosta Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
The top five teams and the low individual at each regional will advance to the finals.
McCulloch shot a 5-over par 76 on Wednesday and is tied for 33rd place at 7-over par 149 (73-76).
Bond, meanwhile, shot a 4-over par 75 in the second round and is tied with McCulloch at 7-over par 147 (74-75).
McCulloch tees off at 9:53 a.m. on Wednesday, playing with Sergio Jimenez of Utah and Riccardo Fantinelli of Princeton, while Bond tees off at 10:04 a.m., joined by Gabriel Palacios of Utah and Carter Maneth from Middle Tennessee State.
This marks the 10th-straight year the Spartans have been represented in an NCAA Regional, with team appearances from 2016-19 and 2022-25 and individuals reaching a regional in 2021 (James Piot) and now in 2026.
