MSU Soccer’s Conneh Named United Soccer Midfielder to Watch

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Senior transfer Leo Conneh was named United Soccer Coaches Midfielder to Watch.
The transfer from Liberty enters his first season with Michigan State. The midfielder from Anoka, Minnesota captured All-North Region third-team honors last season.
He captured Ohio Valley All-Conference second-team honors and was selected to the OVC All-Tournament team last season. Conneh started all 20 games for Liberty, which finished 9-5-6 and advanced to the OVC Semifinals in 2025.
Conneh collected his first all-conference honor in 2025. He scored a career-high six goals and added two assists to finish 2025 with a career-high 14 points. He led the Flames with 40 shots and 19 shots on goal.
He joins Stephane Njike from Indiana as the only Big Ten representative on the midfielder list.
Conneh and the Spartans begin the 2026 campaign with a home exhibition against Loyola Chicago on August 8 at DeMartin Stadium at 5 p.m.
